A quick reminder that panic doesn’t help! When we panic and go into fear based operation, the body’s fight or flight mode takes over and we can’t focus resources on healing and on building immune defenses. Look at the positive, think of the glass half-full. Take time for gratitude, appreciate what we do have, appreciate something every day! Write it down in a daily gratitude journal. And take time to pause.
Take time to breathe, 6 long breaths in and out can pause our automatic reaction and give us time to think.
These are recent wise words regarding the corona virus and cancelling of events, work and borders:
“There are a bunch of things that aren’t being canceled . . . Your family has not been canceled; your friends have not been canceled; your imagination is not canceled; conversations can still persist . . . Music is still with us; art is still with us; long walks have not been canceled; the beach is not canceled; the lakes, the rivers, the mountains haven’t been canceled; books are not canceled; hope is also not canceled . . . Most importantly, self-care has not been canceled. (Dr. Joshua Levitt, Naturopathic Physician, Town Hall Meeting 03-13-2020)
