VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
You must drink lots of water. You need to drink so much water that your urine never becomes yellow. Your urine should be clear.
So drink, drink, drink, drink water! Now, let’s discuss drinks that aren’t water.
The governor of California has said that if you’re over 65, you have to stay home, and if you have medical conditions like diabetes — at any age — you also have to stay home. So, that’s going to be extended dramatically in the hours and days to come. But the bottom line is that they allow bars to deliver drinks, alcoholic drinks, which is against the law, but because they were closing down the bars, they wanted them to deliver the drinks to their homes.
Now, I understand politically doing that, but medically, we’re trying to mitigate this virus not feed it.
We know that even having a couple beers, you know, not binge drinking, just having a couple of beers, increases the risk of infectivity of any virus.
I had a participant recently who, naturally, was stressed about what was going on with coronavirus, though she was informed because I’ve been working with her and her whole family now for quite some time. So she knew exactly what was coming, or at least had been warned. And with the stress and anxiety, her friend came over and they decided to have a bottle of wine, which I get as a great way to calm down, good for them!
But I said to her, whenever you drink even a little bit of wine, or any alcoholic drink, it suppresses your immune system. She texted me right back and said, that’s the end of that.
And so I’m just sharing this with you because you are all going to be tempted to do things that we shouldn’t do. Because that’s the nature of humanity: we want to do things that make us feel better temporarily, celebrate a little bit – let’s just take a break from the stress and have a few beers or have some wine, eat pie and ice cream. We feel like we want to calm down for a minute and have a little bit of joy in our lives.
The problem is, that type of “joy” could seal your fate. I’m just a messenger, right? So don’t shoot the messenger! I’m just telling you what would not be very wise to do.
I’m talking to myself too, because I find myself craving sugar at the most important times when I should stay away from sugar, which I normally do quite well. But when I start craving it, my initial impulse is to say, well just go ahead and have a little bit. You’ve been so good for so many months. Just go ahead. Go ahead and though it’s just a little bit, right? I mean, that’s human nature, isn’t it, right?” But the reality is, that’s my body telling me that something’s happening and I’m looking for, I’m looking for an out, I’m looking for an escape from reality. And if I succumb to that temptation, I’m opening up a window of time that may last for four to six hours where I’m much more susceptible to that infection if I were to be exposed at that time. So these are words to the wise, okay. To those who have ears let them hear and avoid doing that.
Okay, that’s that’s critical. drink lots of water. Not soda, not beer, not wine, not spirits… drink water only, and drink lots of it.
